The D-Day Museum, Portsmouth – September 2019
The focus of The D-Day Story is the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany’s occupation. It is told using the personal possessions and words of the people who took part and features the experiences of men, women and children – ordinary people working together to achieve the extraordinary.
The D-Day Story re-opened in 2018 after being shut for a total refurbishment costing millions of pounds and June 2019 will see the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
The story is told in three parts: Preparation; D-Day and the Battle of Normandy; Legacy and the Overlord Embroidery. Stunning imagery, audio-visual presentations and hands-on interactives help to bring the story to life.
